COLUMBUS SHORT WIFE

“Scandal” star Columbus Short was handed divorce papers and a restraining order after he allegedly threatened to kill his wife, actress Tuere Tanee McCall.

TMZ reports McCall filed a restraining order against Short after an incident on April 7 during which he allegedly held a knife to her throat and threatened murder-suicide. Purportedly intoxicated, he poured wine on her before pinning her to a couch, questioning her about affairs while wielding a knife.

“He placed the knife close to my neck and threatened to kill me and then kill himself,” read documents obtained by E! News. She ultimately got in her car and drove away, but one of her tires was slashed.

The restraining order required him to move out of the house they share in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Chatsworth, according to TMZ. Police were there Wednesday to ensure the process went smoothly.

Along with the restraining order, McCall filed for divorce in Los Angeles Superior Court citing “irreconcilable differences.” She is seeking sole physical and legal custody of their 2-year-old daughter, Ayala, E! News reports.

McCall previously filed for divorce in September 2013, according to RadarOnline.com. But the couple, who married in 2005, apparently reconciled after that.

This is not the first time there has been a domestic violence incident between Short and McCall. He was previously arrested following an altercation in front of their daughter and his son back in February. He was charged with spousal battery and pleaded not guilty.

Last month, Short was arrested for his alleged involvement in a bar fight in Los Angeles that left one man hospitalized. In 2010, he was accused of breaking a man’s jaw during a basketball pick-up game.

Chris Brown’s Mom Joyce Speaks Out After His Rehab Incident

It’s been one hell of a week for troubled R&B crooner Chris Brown.

Breezy was back on the scene almost instantly following his short stint in anger management rehab but yesterday he headed back to court yet again to deal after reports surfaced claiming that he was kicked out of the rehab facility following a violent outburst where he allegedly shattered his mother’s car window with a rock.

Chris Brown was booted from a rehab facility this month after smashing his mother’s car window during a family session, his probation officer reported Wednesday.

The judge overseeing Brown’s probation in his Rihanna beating case ordered the singer to immediately enter another rehab program and stay for 90 days.

Brown, who was arrested on an assault charge in Washington, D.C., last month, still faces a possibly probation violation charge that could send him to prison.

“There is much concern with the probationer’s new arrest and his violent outburst that resulted in his discharge from a treatment facility,” the probation report said.

The singer sat nervously in a Los Angeles County courtroom, holding girlfriend Karrueche Tran’s hand as he waited while his lawyer, Mark Geragos, met privately with the judge and prosecutor before his hearing began Wednesday afternoon.

Since its record-breaking premiere, TLC’s biopic, “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story,”has stirred up a bit of controversy between the trio and their former manager, Perri “Pebbles” Reid.

In recent weeks, Reid has admittedly denounced her portrayal in the original VH1 flick, adding that she’s “not guilty” of treating the group unfairly. To further express her distaste for the film, yesterday the singer-music executive released an official statement on her website to clarify “many false and defamatory statements” made about her.

First I want to thank all of you for the well wishes and prayers. I apologize for the delay in responding to the movie, but I wanted to gather my thoughts. I have always been a private person and this unprovoked attack has been extremely upsetting to me and my family. I have needed time to spend with my family and for personal reflection. The movie contains many false and defamatory statements and scenes about me. Please know that I have never cheated or mislead anyone. I will defend my reputation, accomplishments, and character. My attorney is in the process of demanding a retraction of the false and defamatory statements and scenes about me from VH1.

Crossing the line? Kanye West defies critics and wears controversial Confederate Flag jacket to boxing class

He has never been afraid to put his reputation on the line by indulging in controversial antics.

But many will be thinking Kanye West has gone too far after he brashly ignored critics and wore a jacket with a Confederate Flag patch in Los Angeles on Saturday.

The Georgia born singer was spotted in the garment after he worked up a sweat in a private boxing lesson.

The green jacket is part of a controversial fashion line he has created which he claims is an attempt to reclaim the Southern Cross from racists.

Kanye, whose father Ray was a Black Panther, has emblazoned his tour merchandise with the flag design, which has been used by extremist groups like the Ku Klux Klan as an emblem.

Explaining his rationale, he said: ‘React how you want. Any energy you got is good energy. You know the confederate flag represented slavery in a way — that’s my abstract take on what I know about it.

‘So I made the song New Slaves. So I took the Confederate flag and made it my flag. It’s my flag now. Now what are you going to do?’

The flag is featured on T-shirts and bags at his new Yeezus tour pop-up shop next door to fiancee Kim Kardashian’s clothing boutique in Los Angeles.

The merchandise went on sale at the temporary shop on Melrose Avenue, which he chose to locate right next door to Kim’s Dash boutique.

One of the T-shirts features a skull with the flag as the background and the words ‘I ain’t comin’ down,’ while another features a skeletal grim reaper wearing the flag as a cloak and carrying a scythe.

Other shirts feature skeletons in various positions, including one kneeling and praying with the words ‘Yeezus wants you.’ Also on display were shoulder bags bearing the flag.

Kanye’s sixth album Yeezus confronts racism head-on, and the items, which were unveiled on the first leg of his tour in Seattle earlier this month, may be a nod to songs such as Black Skinhead and New Slaves.

Kanye, 36, finally spoke out Monday on why he chose to decorate his merchandise with the symbol, which for many is a painful reminder of slavery (although many view it as a symbol of southern pride, and it is still displayed in many areas of the American South).

Kanye is not the only rapper to make reference to the flag in his music, with singers Ludacris, Andre 3000 and Pastor Troy all incorporating the symbol into their album covers or dress.

Many disagree with Kanye’s use of the flag, including Reverend Al Sharpton, who recently compared the symbol to the swastika.

He said: ‘Often times, people like to falsely believe that the Confederate flag is somehow not offensive

‘As Jonathan Capehart of the Washington Post highlighted in his recent piece, it’s akin to placing a swastika somewhere.

‘The Confederate flag symbolises dehumanisation, injustice and pain. It is a stark reminder of an era in our history that was defined by the abhorrent practice of slavery.

‘And it is representative of a mentality that looked upon Blacks as inferiors who needed to remain in the shackles of subservience.’
